Description
Very centrally located, Crosswoodhill is a traditional farmhouse, part of which dates from the eighteenth century. With a lovely ambience, enhanced by the original pine shutters, panelling and doors, the accommodation has been brought fully into the 21st century. Who nowadays can survive on holiday without free Wi-Fi, a power shower, a dishwasher, washing machine, central heating, a TV and DVD player and a garden to relax in when the sun is shining? Or who doesn't enjoy a welcome glow in the fireplace from the multi-fuel stove in winter or other times of year?
A direct link to the owners' website is supplied within this listing. To spare you a repeat of what's there, do take a few minutes to explore www.crosswoodhill.co.uk. You will be rewarded with a very full description of the Wing of Crosswoodhill Farmhouse. Along with the description, layout plan and a Gallery slide-show Page with over 30 interior images, there's a wealth of information on the See & Do Pages. No-one here suffers from lack of choice as to what to do from here! Check out on the Crosswoodhill website our local area Gallery Page on our immediate area, West Lothian. You’ll see lots of happy smiling faces.
Maybe explore ruined Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots? Or balance a day spent in the many wonderful free museums with indulging in some bargain retail therapy in Livingston’s nearby designer outlets? Then perhaps wind down the day with a stroll round the farm before relaxing with a dram enjoying the glow of the multi-fuel stove. Or drive the half-hour into Edinburgh to take in a show or an atmospheric ghost-walk round the old city?
Radiate East, West, South and North from here for an amazing diversity of stunning Scottish landscapes, from the hills and glens of Loch Lomond & the Trossachs to the wide sandy beaches of East Lothian, the rolling hills of the Borders and fishing villages of Fife. Relax on a boat trip, or entertain yourselves for free by watching farm activities or piecing together a jigsaw in Steading Cottage whilst planning your next day's adventure.
And if for any reason the Wing does not suit you we have 3 other self-catering properties on the farm that you can view on our Crosswoodhill website. Maybe you can't manage stairs (the bedrooms in the Wing are upstairs) or maybe you feel the Wing is too small for the make-up of your party? Or you like something more open-plan? Or more luxurious? Crosswoodhill really does have the ideal property for almost everyone as you will find if you explore our Crosswoodhill website! Check out our Trip Advisor Reviews. We consistently win regional and national awards for our holiday cottages. We live close so are happy to help with anything.
Please note that all heating fuel and electricity are charged as extras at the end of your stay, at cost, depending on measured usage. Dogs are charged at £20 per dog per week. The rentals are based on up to 6 people.
2 - 4 is ideal.

The beautiful capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh is situated on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth. It began as a hill fort and has a rich architectural history, boasting over 4500 historic buildings, and is now designated a World Heritage Site.
At the top of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle dominates the landscape, and is one of Scotland’s most famous tourist attractions. The castle has sheltered many of the country’s monarchs, and is now the home of the Scottish Crown Jewels.
This cosmopolitan city offers a wealth of activities and entertainment, from museums, libraries and art galleries, to restaurants, pubs and clubs. It is home to the Royal Lyceum Theatre, the King's Theatre, Edinburgh Festival Theatre and Edinburgh Playhouse. There are a wide range of shops from designer names to high street brands, as well as several tranquil parks and gardens where one can escape from the buzz of city life.
There are many tours operating in the city, from hop-on hop-off open-top bus rides to ghost walks. Coaches can also be taken to visit attractions further afield in Scotland, including Loch Ness and the Highlands, Loch Lomond, St Andrews and the Scottish Borders.
Every August Edinburgh hosts the biggest annual international arts festival in the world. This combines the Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
